Soccer --- Statistics

In the soccer simulation,

Exercise 6: Simulate 30 games of a team A with distribution (70,20,10) against team B with distribution (25,40,35). Estimate the number of goals team A makes, and also estimate the number of goals team B makes. Also estimate the goal difference. For all these estimates, give 95% confidence intervals. Also test the hypothesis that team A is stronger or equal to team B (i.e. that the mean of goal difference of the population is greater or equal to 0) at the 5% level of significance. Solution

It may seem a little unusual to use inferential statistics here. The sample consists obviously of the 30 games played. For the population, simulate say 1,000,000 games.
